Panmure Island Provincial Park
Location: Panmure Island, Rte. 347
Panmure Island is one of the most popular long white sand beaches in Eastern PEI. The location being along a causeway gives water access on both sides as you drive down the highway. You will experience the sheltered shore and clam digging on the St. Mary’s Bay side and the sand dunes with a long white sandy ocean beach on the other. The Panmure Island Lighthouse sits at the end of the causeway and is open to visitors. The First Nations People hold an annual Pow Wow at Panmure Island in August. This spiritual/cultural event includes drum bands, native crafts and a healing sweat tent. The park offers lifeguards, laundromat, hot showers, flush toilets, kitchen shelters, fireplaces, supply store, dumping station, look-out tower, beach house with change rooms, canteen, boat launching.
