Panmure
Island Provincial Park
Location: On Rte 347, north of
Gaspereaux.
Panmure Island is one of the most popular long white sandy beaches

experience the sheltered shore and clam digging on the St. Mary’s
Bayside and the sand dunes with a long white sandy ocean beach
on the other. The Panmure Island Lighthouse sits at the end
of the causeway and is open to visitors. The park offers lifeguards,
laundromat, hot showers, flush toilets, kitchen shelters, fireplaces,
supply store, dumping station, look-out tower, beach house with
change rooms, canteen, boat launching. The First Nations People
hold an annual Pow Wow at Panmure Island in August. This spiritual/cultural
event includes drum bands, native crafts and a healing sweat
tent. Scheduled recreational activities for children in July
and August. Beach chairs for rent. Scenic viewing tower.
